HAB4b’s payload landed in a remote area on the outskirts of Borrego Springs, California. Finding and getting to the payload was no simple task. First using radio directional equipment our RCOM teams were able to localize the landing zone to a specific area a couple miles square. After climbing a hill we were able to see the parachute and one of the payload boxes. But getting to them was a challenge. The hike was long and difficult but very rewarding. Along the way we encountered some beautiful desert scenery and interesting wild life. These pictures tell part of the story.
